Gentile does not mean non-Jew. Gentile is a Latin word that just means nation. Let the context determine meaning. The Gentiles in Romans 2:14-15 and Romans 9:24-26 are Israelites of the ten northern tribes for examples. The modern day Jews are not Israelites. Scripture says that true physical Israel would be the people who take the Gospel to the nations. Who has done that for the most part? They are Israel. A few correct definitions can really make a difference. You aren't the first to run into this problem.
