Sweetest thing a guy has done for me was surprise me with dinner. He made us a great dinner from scratch, brought me over to the house blindfolded, had candles and rose petals scattered around and "romantic" music playing. It was incredibly sweet because I know that he wasn't a planner, and he did something for me that required forethought and a lot of logistics.

He's actually done a lot of surprises like that now that I'm thinking about it. One year for my birthday he bought a Groupon deal for a helicopter ride to take us and pick us up from dinner. For Christmas he bought us 6 private dance lessons. Last year we went to see Wicked in Baltimore. Activities that you can do together are awesome, create great memories, and can sometimes be incredibly cheap if you find a good deal.

Something that I do for him is keep a list of all the things he says through out the year that would be potential gift ideas. So if he says, "Wow, I'd love to see Circa Survive in concert", I add it to the list to keep in mind for future years. It's incredibly helpful when you're trying to think of something that's creative that you know that they'll like. Good luck!

Thanks for the reply, that advice about keeping note of everything she says she wants throughout the year is a great one as I forget things constantly and I too am not much of a planner haha. I'll check out groupon today, cheers!
