You're god damn right. You're an educator, or at least, you're supposed to be an educator. Your job is to enlighten minds, not prohibit them.

How will they enforce the ban? What will keep prof. menhater from give a lower grade for spelling it "women" and saying it was marked down for something else?

Student reporting is the only avenue I can see.
Not the most reliable system in the world, but more reliable than is commonly believed, I think.

And from still knowing quite a few people working there, I know they will be taking it quite seriously. I expected this outcome when I first heard the news. My old advisor (still employed there) made quite a few social media posts about the idiotic rules those professors were trying to set.

It's about time universities started denouncing these dogmatic anti-intellectual practices. I was really begining to worry about you Americans.

I'm going to play devil's advocate for a minute as suggest that all of the internet outrage about how they should fire professors for banning words, or fire professors for using "bad" words, or firing professors for not not banning banning free hate speech is exactly what's creating this PC culture. My understanding, and I might be wrong, is that tenure was designed so that professors didn't have to constantly look over their shoulder trying not to "offend" anyone of the thousands of people they teach a year who might be intentionally trying to find a way to be offended. Maybe public opinion doesn't belong in university classrooms unless it's a course on politics.
