I'm going through this struggle right now. I want to upgrade my computer to play games with friends but in order to avoid these hardware backdoors I can't get any post-2013 AMD or post-2009 Intel hardware. On top of that, the highest performing parts of those age need to be really high TDP to keep up with today's CPUs and it's currently the middle of summer. And VIA's best CPU is still shit. I feel trapped in an x86 prison with no options left.

I would drive a steamroller over a field of puppies if it meant I could get my hands on a socketed RISC-V CPU in *ATX form factor running Coreboot and all my software was compiled for it.

The only real solution at this time sucks.

Physically segregated networks with no crossover and no microphones or speakers.

Hell, even connecting these systems to the same ground line in your house is enough to leak data.

I am rebuilding my network in the near future and this is what I am intending to do.
