If you're going to buy 4 grenade tops you might as well buy those trip alarms that take a 12 gauge shell, tauflerdemaus shows them on his YouTube channel

What scenario do you imagine employing this?

I have a dead end leading to my master bedroom back door. It'd be perfect there. Any place you may need an alert. A gate that you want to keep locked would be good. You could rig it to go off if it's opened.

It definitely looks like an excellent option for a pathway or perimeter camping alarm. Maybe a game can be built around setting them up and detecting them with the kids so they can get proficient in setting and detecting, but for actual home defense, I prefer the pained screams of an unwanted trespasser courtesy of a variety of spring traps. There's just something invigorating about hearing the pained screams of an unwanted trespasser that appeals to my inner psychopath. It makes me feel like a kid on Christmas morning about to open my presents, but with an axe or a shotgun.

Then a dog walks through it.

You can make a similar one with a mouse trap
