I completely revamped my budget excel application. Resorted by due date, included a % change column so I can see how I'm doing from month to month. Added monthly and bi-weekly income areas so I have that as a formula reference. Paid off a credit card and did a balance transfer to take advantage of lower interest.
Scored a free Kindle Fire. Something about credit card points. Been meaning to get a second device as a reader for kindle/pdf books and keep the paperwhite as a backup/bugout/emergency/travel device. The Fire is basically an android tablet.
Made a smaller step on my local weather station set up. Right now it's only pulling from the weather.com API data (which includes satellite and webcam data) so it's nothing special but I deployed it to a local server instead of running it from my development environment. The end goal is to include local physical sensors on a Raspberry Pi, get traffic and web cam feeds, hook up a battery, get a few cameras for it and have a self contained system for the truck. I haven't researched it yet but I'm hoping I can use the Kindle Fire as a touchscreen display.
As noted on Monday, primary repairs were completed on the truck. Axle boots, lubrication points, parking brake.
Built a temporary tailgate for the truck. I somehow channeled my inner carpenter and pulled a tailgate out of my ass. I have to add a few more pieces to get it to stabilize in the bed and get a few latches from Lowes or whatever so that I can swing it up and down. It's actually not horrible looking and I have no fucking clue how I managed to do it so well.
When I moved the truck after winter thaw, I ran over the step ladder that was used for climbing onto the bed. Never even noticed. Hardly a surprise since I've pulled down a fence with the truck and couldn't tell. I replaced the ladder with one I've had my eye on for about 5 years.
Organized my prep computer files (long overdue).
Got a can of mace/pepper spray for nonlethal encounters.
Added to the food stores a little.
Organized the workshop. Having multiple simultaneous projects was getting a little messy. Added a few tools to the mix. Happy to say that the table saw is fucking awesome.
Edit: argued with the power company. They haven't issued a usable bill in two months and the balance due floats up and down every time I look at it. Threatened lawyer action and non-payment if they don't fix the problem. And I can do this because of the solar system.
