I'll take some photos of my water shed. I have to be on trucked water since I'm too far from the city but the lot is too small for a well. We've got two small households on the shed (2kids, 4 adults) and have put in water saving fixtures. We get around four weeks of range from 1700 gallons. Since it's always getting consumed a cap full of bleach is the treatment, lab results show its been pretty good in feel the bugs down. You could try hooking up the well to the tank so if the power goes down you've got water on the surface... You guys get freezing weather down there?
Yeah, it's been pretty cold lately so 9% freezing expansion taken into account makes sure it doesn't burst the tank.
I guess if you're constantly going through the water, bleach going old isn't much of a problem :)
The well is about maybe 100 feet from the tank and slightly uphill. Shouldn't be too much of a problem to run a hose if I want to do that. Thanks for the idea!
