Nobody cares. It's especially ironic coming from the media, who generally try write their stories for the widest possible audience and therefore dumb it down.

So what? He speaks in a way that the average voter can understand. Not that I would ever vote for him (I wouldn't....), but come on....

I just post things that I think will start discussions. I'm not a trump supporter, but I'm not against him. The fact that he's running a successful campaign says a lot more about Washington than it does him.

I agree, I am not with him but I am not against him either. I would rather him over Hillary but in the end it doesn't really matter to me. I think he's a smart man for getting as far as he has, and a lot of it has to do with speaking to the American population instead of his non-existent donors.

Ernest Hemingway and Jack London wrote at an 8th grade level in his novels. Liberals are getting desperate.

You have to remember he is speaking to the American public. Why speak another language that would not be understood?

They used this same 'story' last summer. Desperation is uglier now that BernieBots are in total denial.

I would love these faggots to analyze the grade level of an Al Sharpton speech, haha

Well, you have to consider the level of the general population I guess... makes sense.

This is simple causality, and it's curious why people try to spin it.

Donald Trump speaks in a way that does not discriminate against the fact that the majority of humanity is at or below average intellect.

This is not surprising. This is intentional. It works because obvious.

the majority of humanity is at or below average intellect.

What do you think average means?

Congratulations! You realized I was pointing out the obvious.

Average != smart. This entire complaint is saying Trump doesn't speak for "smart people". Please connect the dots for complete reading comprehension.

(spoiler: Trump is running on a populist platform. To be a populist one must appeal to the broadest groups of people. The broadest group of humanity is not very smart. Ergo, complaining about Trump for.. well, doing what he's trying to do is kind of ridiculous)

Now, an academic paper has put some presidents and political candidates’ language on trial. “A Readability Analysis of Campaign Speeches From the 2016 US Presidential Campaign,” released this week by Carnegie Mellon University, analyzed stump speeches to measure their “readability” — the reading level of an address, ranked from first grade to 12th grade. And, according to a summary from the university, the study found “most candidates using words and grammar typical of students in grades 6-8, though Donald Trump tends to lag behind the others.”

That's the only paragraph you actually need to read, if you care at all. It's WaPo.
