You grew up in the ghetto? In which democratic state? Lol.

Red states typically absorb far more tax dollars from the federal government than they pay in (due to being underfunded themselves).

The reddest states on that map at the top—Mississippi, Alabama, Louisiana, New Mexico, Maine—have exceptionally high poverty rates and thus receive disproportionately large shares of federal dollars. Through a variety of social programs, the federal government disburses hundreds of billions of dollars each year to maintain a “safety net” intended to help the neediest among us. Consider, for example, the percentage of each state’s residents who get “food stamps” through the federal government’s SNAP program.

They hate that this puts lie to the false narrative that liberals/hippies/Democrats are lazy takers. Reality is the exact opposite. The only three counties in the entire country where over half the income is from 'entitlements' all voted heavily republican and are like 98% white. It's actually sad how they vote against their own economic best interests over and over again, and blame one half of the false dichotomy for all of their problems. They're like children throwing a tantrum.
