Too much publicity, I guess.

They couldn't let it go too public what hypocrites they are.

That's a very interesting analogy.

No, slamming Trump is free speech. Saying you're going to kill him or putting ideas like that in people's heads is not free speech.

This, so fucking much. Inciting violence is not covered by free speech.

It's the same reason yelling "FIRE!" in a crowded building is not free speech.

But it is OK when Donald Trump does it right?

Is it free speech if they wait until it has a million hits to do anything about it

Thats how I feel. I don't think you should have speech censored. However, Mark Fuckerberg wants to go around censoring some hate speech and not others. I can't let that stand.

Threats of violence are not protected by free speech.

You are not a hypocrite. You simply live in a world different to the one you want to live in. You can (and must IMO) demand unbiased and fair application of existing laws and policies while at the same time seeking to change those policies for all.

It's sad that it probably took a lot of Voaters & random facebook people to convince Facebook that pages for assassinating someone shouldn't be up.

If someone had made a fanpage/group named "Assassinate Barack Obama", it would be taken down IMMEDIATELY and the creators/participants would be banned, and perhaps even reported to the FBI. The hypocrisy...

You're right, it would and I think that would be wrong, too.

They would be reported to the FBI immediately.

That's good news. The only thing I hate more than censorship is selectively-applied censorship. I know inciting violence is a gray area of free speech, but I think anyone who curates content should make every attempt to curate consistently within that gray area.

I live free speech ... but a page to assassinate someone ... joke is getting outta hand.
