Hashtags are a convenient way to voluntarily categorize the content of your message. If you didn't see this coming as soon as Twitter decided to manipulate the timeline algorithm, you weren't thinking about it hard enough.

Because the republicans have never manipulated, gerrymandered, or otherwise subverted the system to get what they want. If you think anyone, be they government or corporate (who am I kidding, same thing) these days isn't doing this you are a useful idiot to have for them.

Lets be honest... Republicans had no issues legislating what you could do; but never what you could think, which is what these extremists liberals are trying to do.

Good to see the connotation that 'politician' has had for the past 400 years still holds up.

Twitter has been openly screwing with the hashtags for a long time now. Right-wing hashtags haven't been autocompleting in the searchbox for months now. Users have been getting shadowbanned... Twitter's pretty much openly tilting the field now. I wish an alternative would take off. (I know there are a few alternatives out there, but none of them I've seen really have enough users to be worth posting on ATM.)

What are some of these alternatives?

I think there are a few others. I haven't really looked into it that thoroughly.

Do we really need one?

It's just used by media personalities and SJWs.

Well, if I want to talk to nobody, I can just skip signing up for a website and yell at a wall.

More seriously, I think it won't really be worth switching until twitter starts mass-bans. After that we might see some massive enough migration to really make it worth posting at these places. In the meantime, I'm just setting up accounts in case one of these places actually takes off.

Posting on twitter may be a threat to your career. These people cannot be trusted with the data that you are giving them. I have a suspicion they are building a master blacklist of conservative users.

Jack Dorsey is a Black Lives Matter protester. I am positive he has buttsex with Zuckerberg.

Love that BLM has turned on Hillary. George Soros will probably stop funding them if they continue this.

never use twitter, facebook and other normie censorship sites

and yet I get to keep seeing how other people are only learning of the censorship a couple of years later. What is wrong with you people? Why you are people so used to being fucked in the ass? You should have abandoned these sites as soon as you saw the site trying to undo its belt.

You guys are seriously pathetic. And your inability to discern when censorship is building will also cause the downfall of voat and the other sites you are tolerant against.

Seriously though, I learned about this stuff when I was 13 years old, and my primary use of the internet was that of porn and typing out mean things against niggers. How come it is taking so long for you dumb normies?

gonna play some devils advocate here: Your constitutional rights only prevent the government from limiting your right to free speech/bear arms/etc. Last I checked, Twitter is not the government and you can simply not use their services.

No one said what they're doing is unconstitutional. It's more pointing out that it's shady as fuck, and the strongarming is real. And the general consensus is: yea, fuck Twitter.
