Pick a real job that requires skill and makes you an asset.

That's exactly what has to happen. Almost all of my friends kids in law school were open borders/free trade until they started outsourcing document review (the job that goes to law students and new hires). Now suddenly they give a damn about outsourcing. I have really mixed emotions - on the one hand, foreigners taking American jobs, on the other hand, unemployed lawyers.
