It's a matter of information ubiquity: information is so plentiful these days that it's not likely to be known by merely one source (not for long, at any rate). Ergo the problem actually becomes being bogged down with false or shaded information. Simple probability can solve that; if a source has shown itself to be all too willing to lie, either take all future information with a grain of salt or simply disregard it as a source altogether. It's extremely unlikely that they alone possess whatever unique "truth" that you seek, and even if they did such is not likely to remain the case for long (new information is ever being generated at an absolutely god-like rate these days).
