I'm pretty sure a significant minority has expressed their views. Those in charge do not care. It's not just blind pessimism, it's reality. If we're going to move forward we need to get over this delusion we live under representative governments of the people. That's a fantasy we were taught and is what keeps people from taking action.

And your downvote doesn't change these facts.

Fraid I don't posess the power of downvote, but I do think it's not in our interests to give up on our power to influence our representatives - however much they may try to avoid it.

You have no power to influence them now unless its with money or favors. It would be in our best interest to get some. Not just go through the motions, pretend like yiu have a say, and act shocked as they do what they want anyway.
