We should note that the rise of college tuition costs is the bigger culprit here. In nominal dollars, auto worker wages have grown ninefold since 1965. But average four-year-college tuition is up 23 times from what it was in 1965.

Fix the cost issue before you have every taxpayer funding it.

This is exactly what Elizabeth Warren wanted to do (she might seem against big banks, but that is because she doesn't have friends in big banks, like Hillary Clinton), as Warren's friends are in "big education."

Now Bernie wants to push her agenda of "free education" (whereas the education is even worse, and you are basically paying for a slip of paper) which will force taxpayers to pay even more for a broken product. Were you ever forced to buy a computer that was covered by warranty, was broken before you set it up, and couldn't get a refund for it? That's what they are pushing right now.

having every taxpayer funding it is what creates the cost issue.

Kind of. I mean yeah the loans are federally guaranteed, but the fact that you can't bankrupt on them and they can easily take your tax refund every year as well as a portion of every paycheck until it is paid means a lot more. Same result though as they have no reason to hold down prices in either case.
