then by the author’s logic, government policies that elevate the rights of one subset of citizenry over another ( like Affirmative Action, and such ) must be genocide.

It's amazing how racist this column is. Seriously, white fragility?

I made a comment in another subverse that had this article. It doesn't surprise me that an article like this came out of Duke. The university is private and pulls a lot of rich kids, yuppies, and foreign exchange students into its law and medical programs. The university is also located in the midst of what is considered one of the most dangerous cities in NC. A murder or other serious crime is reported on state news at least once per week coming out of Durham.

More of these students need to embrace some of that diversity, it may change their perspective.

If I had a child in high school I would make it extremely clear that I will not contribute one cent to a university education outside of a STM field (the field of "education," of course, has become thoroughly SJW'd). Not because there is no value in a liberal arts education, but because such degrees have become nothing more than six-figure pieces of paper saying "I successfully completed four years of Cultural Marxist indoctrination."
Although I am from a family where blue collar work is discouraged (and thus I unfortunately lack many practical skills, I would encourage my child to learn a trade and become as independent of the Big Brother SJW Industrial complex as possible. Any field where your livelihood is contingent on contributing to a false, destructive narrative is not a healthy one.
