Is there one for the US and israel as creators and sponsors of terror groups? I'm down for that one since they control turkey in reality.

Fair question. http://www.timesofisrael.com/yaalon-syrian-rebels-keeping-druze-safe-in-exchange-for-israeli-aid/

Also they direct our geo-politics and we are sponsoring terrorism, or at least insurgency, so there's that.

They are surrounded by Muslim Nations on all land sides of their border. These Nations have declared war on Israel in the past, and would like to do so again. Thats why Israel supports destabilizing the middle east.

Israel first off is an apartheid their land belongs to Palestinians and since ww2 they just took over and treat any others including Christians and Muslims as second class citizens. Of course if your land was taken over you would not give up you would resist and that is what the Palestinians are doing. However Israel is heavily supplied by the us because many Israelis such as the Rothschild are immensely rich thus have great lobbyist in the us that provide anything for Israels gain. They literally kill Palestinians for fun because they can get away with it . Just google it there is plenty of evidence and how their religious leaders and followers of the Talmud explicitly states that killing of non Jews is totally fine and how they are cattle to serve the isrealis. They have an illegal mass of nuclear weapons and no one says anything. Their cia agency is mossad previously known as Isis, has operatives working in the present Isis as we'll as supplying them with training and weapons. Israel is the main buyer of Isis oil however you hardly hear of it because media is owned by you guessed it. Basically the us is israels bitch, do you ever here anything else but the us giving Israel billions and hundreds of military equipment? No. The only ones that benefit from Isis is Israel and the us because Israel can continue to take Palestinian land and spread hate of moslems and their culture just so the west world would say who cares if they take their land. Just google these topics and also google the talmud because the ones we should be worried about is not Islam it's Talmudic jews who already own all media most banks and our government. It's not a conspiracy when so much proof exists and their ideology is hate.

Serious question, not trying to be rude: have ANY of the petitions on this website ever resulted in real action? I've seen so damn many of them over the years and I can't recall a single instance where anything more than a press release came out of it.

The Death Star petition got a lot of publicity, that's the most success any of them has had.

And only because Obama is a Star Wars fanboy.

I don't know, but reading your question one aspect came to mind. If bringring the issue into the discussion is the only thing the petition does, is that a bad thing? If news reports leak into mainstream media and thereby reach the minds of people which are bombarded by propaganda their whole life, that's a good thing, however small it is.

There's definitely merit to your argument but personally I feel like these are set up as placebos for the masses. People press a button, receive an endorphin rush from 'taking action' and then forget about the follow through. I just don't see REAL action being taken any more by the vast majority of the populace. As a corollary, while I think that BLM is a fucking nonsense movement that's EXTREMELY racist in its own right, one thing I will give them credit for is actually getting out there and DOING shit. They're not just sitting around bitching, they're staging protests, sit-ins, etc. Their goals are nonsense but they are employing much more active methodologies than most of us do.

no. All it does is force an official response as to why the people in a democracy are wrong, and it is the government that is right.

think of it as a pressure valve to help prevent anger among the populace because of the impression of a more direct democracy.

If these mattered, every state would have succeeded from the US when Obama was reelected. Online petitions never effect anything ever, aside from sometimes getting media attention. If you actually want your congressmen to do jackshit, you have to mobilize a campaign to flood them with messages from people concerned about an issue who are willing to not re-elect them if they vote wrong. If you want a petition that actually effects anything, you need to go out on foot and collect enough signatures to get it onto a ballot during the next general election.

This petition site differs from every other only by who runs it.

Can we please stop pretending that Obama's faux petition website actually does anything? If you reach the required signatories, all that is promised is an address on the topic from some Whitehouse aide. A promise btw, that has been followed through on MAYBE 50% of the time.

Sign all you want, but all you're doing is bringing a tiny bit of attention to an issue that will never be effected by the people.

yea the petition is just a neat idea on paper maybe. But the signatures promise no action and they have to keep raising the signature level to get a response because of random internet brigades behind stupid ideas. This was just a PR stunt for the administration to show that they listened to the people and were tech savey

We know.

Going through the gestures knowing they are ineffective isn't always fun. It's sort of a basic responsibility though, isn't it? What's the alternative? Play the deaf mute?

Took about 30 seconds to sign and confirm.

i dont think votes coming from st. petersburg really count though.... i really think the issue will settle as long as russian planes dont intrude into protected air space again (remember they were warned twice!)

not to mention that turkey is a valuable asset to NATO. a great position for the air strikes in sw asia. also, it is a critical point in any potential conflict with russia... blocking any russian advance from the black sea.

it's always weird hearing any westerner talk about removing turkey from NATO, that would be a blunder by any measure .... but we know who is making these posts.

I'm glad some people have a general understanding of geopolitics.

In addition to all that, there are rumors that turkey has an undeclared nuclear arsenal. Parting ways with such a country has never been a smooth process from a diplomatic standpoint.

Turkey should be thrown out of NATO, and not allowed to join the EU. They are dragging us along into war if that happens - though we are willingly sailing his way (germany, france) ourselves. The EU is giving Turkey 3 billion for "help" with the migrant crisis and also some ease on visa requirements. It's ridiculous.

  • "Turkey is currently home to some 2.2 million refugees from the Syrian civil war. The agreement requires Turkey to crack down on people smugglers and cooperate with the EU on the return of people who do not qualify as refugees.
  • The agreement means the EU promises to ease visa requirements for Turkish citizens visiting the EU's passport-free Schengen area by October 2016. Mr Davutoğlu underlined how the deal re-energised Turkey’s long-stalled talks on joining the EU. "Today is a historic day in our accession process to the EU," he said."
  • However, the final summit agreement makes no specific reference to any new areas of negotiation being opened in Turkey’s EU accession bid, apart from one on further economic integration. (1)
  • "More rewards for Turkey are forthcoming: the EU would also open in December the next chapter of negotiations with Turkey in its accession talks to the EU, which have been dragging on since 2005, and prepare further chapters for discussion in the first three months of next year." (2)
  • Turkey's hardline president, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, has demanded membership of the EU as the price for stemming the tide of refugees pouring over his country's borders into Europe. * More than 95 per cent of Turkey's territory is in Asia and its population is overwhelmingly Muslim, meaning the clash of cultures could lead to difficulties integrating with predominantly Christian Europe. 3

Edit: was not thinking straight, yeah, turkey is already in nato.

Have an upgoat and I really don't know much about Turkey other than Erdogan's name is pronounced in a funny way and every time I see it I think people.

I just think it's important for these nonsense petitions to get attention.

The NATO agreement is a treaty. Changes to it have to be approved by a senate supermajority and then put before other member nations for approval and ratification.

A petition for doing this will be about a potent as a fart in a hurricane.
