That is a good point. Before we can get out of this situation, we must first admit that we're in it.
And to your other point - neither the Republicans nor the Democrats have our best interests at heart. As far as I'm concerned they're just trying to keep us complacent enough not to do anything about this system that we live in.

Agree with you 100%. Ignorance is bliss in US politics. When people ask me who I'm voting for and I tell them if the choice is between a Democrat and a Republican it doesn't matter, they are confused, get upset or offended. I tell them why? They two sides of the same coin? They promise what they must to appease their party and voters, but then do whatever they want once elected. Usually that is following the money of big business, banksters etc.
