People turning down free housing because they would have to go to school or work. Tell me again how the majority of the homeless want to get jobs.

The problem is that it isn't free, there is definitely some money to pay somewhere.

I read it as:

"If they're taking taxpayer money then they should have to contribute or train to contribute as a participating member of society."

I agree. It should be temporary housing.

The "lifers" are taking temporary housing from families that really need it. It's pretty selfish to take one of these places with no intentions of every leaving.
