I am deeply intrigued by the fact that whenever these mass shootings occur there is an instantaneous and adamant refusal to consider the possibility that there might be something, even something very tiny, wrong with American gun laws.

Well as a California resident, I think there is something wrong with our gun laws, they are far too restrictive. In most of the state it is very difficult to get a concealed carry permit, which is a major component of the social protection which an armed populace can afford.

I think the only reasoned response to this would be to ask for proof. Can you point me to a society with looser gun laws that is more polite and where there are fewer mass shootings?

And I mean that genuinely. Is there one?
