At least 3rd parties and independants are gaining more traction. This is my ideal scenario next year:
Trump finally has enough of the Republicans shitting on him, goes independent, and splits the vote. This not only kills him and the Republicans, it shows voters that independents DO have a chance.
Meanwhile, Clinton crushes Sanders out of existence, but then her past (the email scandal maybe) finally comes to bite her in the ass, killing her in the polls. This is the least likely scenario, as Hilary is one hell of a slippery politician, but she's also quite filthy.
This pushes libertarians past the % threshold they need for Federal funding, which will hopefully spell the end of this god awful 2 party system the US has been stuck with for ages by 2020.
