I've always thought that was weird too. It's contradictory to say censorship should be avoided, but certain types of speech should also be avoided. I'm glad this sub isn't heavily moderated and people's true opinions are allowed to be discussed though. You could always go back to reddit if you can't handle comments that hurt your feelings OP. Over there they heavily censor all the types of speech that you want to see censored.

What you consider constructive is just your opinion. I see people crying about wayyyycism and Muh bigotry here every other day. In my opinion these posts complaining about controversial comments being prevalent here aren't constructive, usually i just downvote and move on. It's funny how the big bad racists are always more tolerant of other views than liberals. If you don't like it downvote and move on. If you just want to be in an echo chamber of timid nerds making non offensive comments you should check out reddit.com
