Twelve years ago, in August 2003, Joe Lieberman led in most polls of the Democratic primary. Eight years ago, in August 2007, Rudy Giuliani maintained a clear lead in polls of Republicans, while Hillary Clinton led in polls of the Democratic nomination contest.

Leading the polls does not mean anything and if you look at history .. leading the polls at this time shows you will not be winning anything

It gives me hope for Rand or Kasich as well. (While I still believe Sanders is a much better candidate.) But the point still stands, it still kicks the legs out from under "Sanders can't win".

I'm waiting for his response as he's pretty good with realizing we all just want what's best for all of us so please refrain from shitting on him as he's refrained from the brainless cuck comments lately.

It has been about 30 minutes now, I suspect the Trump campaign is going to want their money back.

They were leading on name recognition alone. Once the voters started hearing what candidates had to say, 9/11 Giuliani, and the Whore on Wall Street started looking pretty shitty.

No idea the Republicans were going to pull a potato out of the bag later, and put a retard in the VP spot. That was brilliant.

The Republican field is unelectable. We need the right Democrat.

Most polls showed Ron Paul consistently beating BO in a head to head matchup by a small margin, no other candidates achieved that feat. It meant nothing because he won no primaries, only the Maine Caucus.

If these people get their way we will have a BS problem. I'm not sure what HC could stand for, but it must be pretty bad.

This. Correct. If Rand were to run against either Clinton or Sanders it would be a bloodbath in favor of Rand.

I think Ron Paul would have had a better showing than R-Money because he was less controllable. I think that's also why we didn't see him in the general though.

America was founded via revolution that was initiated due to a disgust and distrust of the current government. If anything he embodies the principals America was founded upon.

Bernie wants more government and believes that everyone should trust the government to act benevolently, because "they know best." He represents the exact opposite of everything the Founders stood for. The Founders feared sophists like Bernie almost as much as they feared kings, which is why they made us a constitutional republic instead of a democracy in the first place.

This is a flat out lie. As such it's ridiculous that it has any positive upvotes.

Again, Bernie hasn't been vetted yet. He hasn't faced the torrent of negativity in the mainstream that the GOP candidates and even Shillary to some degree are dealing with 24/7.

In a general election, the average American is simply not voting for an avowed socialist. Most actually reliable voters grew up in the Cold War and know all about the evils of socialism. While they're still dumb enough to accept socialism if it's disguised under different terms (such as the "safety net"), they're not going to vote for someone who openly describes himself as a socialist, had a Soviet flag in his office and praised third-world Commie dictators.

And I can't wait to witness the cult of bernie magically return to Camp Clinton when Bernie is eliminated from the race.

It'll be funny, trust me, there will actually be pro Clinton posts here.

Then by that logic Voat will be overloaded with Cruz/Rubio posts when Rand and Trump lose the nomination. Clinton didn't won't get Sanders backers, but she may get Fiorina fans.

did you just say that sHillary has to face negativity from the mainstream media? She has them bought and paid for.

Many average Americans will vote for Bernie Sanders despite his socialist title. This is an undeniable fact.

Those are the welfare leeches. They'll vote for any D put in front of them. The fact that Republicans still win elections sometimes is proof that this voting bloc isn't nearly strong enough to decide an election on their own.

Hillary's big claim to the nomination is she is the only electable Democrat. If that goes out the window there is no positive reason to vote for her.

That's exactly why I think this is such a big deal. If more moderate dems and undecideds knew about this there would be a very real possibility of not even seeing Hillary in the general.

I really don't believe this. I doubt he will get a vote from anyone other than union workers and college students. If Sanders wins I am leaving this fucking country. A person who believes the myths he believes is dangerous for the prosperity of the country.

I suspect an over-representation of certain demographics in the poll that are hard to adjust for due to a lack of historical data to make the adjustment with.
