Is it a better world if world economies are grounded to a halt? Lets make the switch, without harming our various economies.

grinding to a halt would be a stretch. I'm lazy and I want to continue to be lazy is hardly an excuse. I agree that there would be major repurcussions to lazy MNCs, developing countries that are thriving on cheap coal as fuel, its disruptive as hell, but there are plenty of alternatives and the subsidies given to fossil fuels could just be given to alternative/ cleaner energy.

developing countries that are thriving on cheap coal as fuel,

Thinking about it, I could argue that by going "green" and decreasing demand for oil worldwide, the prices for oil will drop to make it more enticing, more affordable, and more convenient for those developing countries while the more developed countries get the more efficient and renewable energy source that they need.
