Look at all those liberals in the comments. Like moths to a flame.

Ron Paul was a definite win on the ticket, but to prevent this, they rigged the election on the GOP.

They hate him, but can't help but fund his campaign for him.

He built a wall around Jeb, and made Fox pay for it :^)

The media hates every candidate except their little darling Hillary. But try as they might, she's tanking anyway.

People and businesses who give The New York Times money want to read about Hillary, not Trump.

Is it really? More often and not simple greed is the answer, not elaborate plots for power.

I don't really like any of his policies, but same goes for all the other candidates, so why not pick the entertaining one?

He's probably referring to the NYTimes giving Clinton coverage for something that seems so trivial, when if crowds were the only requirement for NYT, then he would have had pics long ago from them.

The failing, money-losing media needs to make up stories about Trump buying crowds because they don't want to admit how much support he has.

Bernie is the one "buying" crowds by promising them free shit.

Bernie is fighting for a good wage where other politicians are not. Don't demonize him for doing something virtuous.

TIL that deciding what's done with your tax dollars is getting free shit.

Trump has support, Hillary has support - I hate them both. Both buy crowds, if you can't see that because you think any of the current lineup of candidates are swell people you are living in fantasy land.

I think its funny that you say that. Rush just did a study where people are SENDING TRUMP MONEY AS DONATIONS. Guy says he has 10 billion dollars all the time. People still sending him money even after he said he wants to take none. Yea he is "buying crowds" lol joke city people.

He doesn't have 10b dollars, he had the equivalent of 10b dollars of wealth. There's a huge difference. He likely has 300-500 million or so actual dollars. Even if he had 10b that's chump Zhang compared to promising from hc and schooling to everyone.

The Business Insider story does not match the headkine - the unsubstantiated accusation comes from an anti-Trump activist, and the BI reports that all the people they talked to appeared to be genuine supporters. Trump and Sanders continue to draw the largest crowd of any candidate. These are real crowds that show real popular support.

The Red State Hillary story makes no mention of a paid crowd. It justpoints out that the crowd was much smaller than portrayed by the campaign.

OP, your comment and links are misleading. You must come from D.C.

Their data analysis is also heavily skewed against Trump, which is disappointing as I thought the NYT would keep that insulated from their editorial bias and favour objectivity over partisanship. Oh well, their presentation is as nice as they are misleading.

http://www.nytimes.com/interactive/2016/us/elections/presidential-candidates-dashboard.html

In a matrix with only 5 data points, why would you include "Money Raised", given that it is entirely inapplicable to the billionaire candidate leading in the national polls.

the NYT would keep

Not sure why you would think that, the writing has been on the wall for many decades.
