Aren't politicians supposed to reflect the will of the people?

Ideally, people vote for politicians who represent their views. If the politicians change their views to whatever is most popular, they are probably disingenuous about their views.

Ideally, yes. But in reality, politicians have to change because their electorate changes. In order for them to win, they must reflect the views of the electorate.

That is every politician. No politician run completely on their own personal views. They are a reflection of what the electorate wants.

I don't like Clinton, but who cares if they are disingenuous? If they vote what the people wants then that would be a huge difference. What they REALLY feel does not matter at all. I do not on the other hand think she will vote like she says.

Yes, but words are cheap. I'd rather pick the guy that consistently didn't want to put the egg beater in my ass than the guy that rooted the attacker on until I said I didn't like it loudly enough for them to pay attention.

Yes, but they are supposed to do so from the beginning, not when it becomes politically advantageous.
Almost no politician does this however.
