Source? Pretty sure he's running on the opposite. I'm not a supporter of his, but from what I understand he's very much against "blacks are special"

He's a surgeon... who thinks he can be president... despite knowing fuck-all about politics, the economy, foreign policy, or even the workings of the government he'd be running. His only feature is that he's black, which the Republicans like because they think that if they like him it proves they're not racist, which itself is an act of racism.

you're making an assumption about republicans being white, and as white people voting for a black man to purposely not seem racist, which itself is an act of racism

That's funny, after 7 years of exactly what you've described.

That's not the case at all. Ben Carson is a man who is in contact with al Sharpton regularly and claims "they share the same goal". The only reason he's doing well in the polls is because republican voters want to counter signal how "not racist" they are to all of the liberals and the media who constantly accuse republicans of being racist.
Nothing Carson says is profound, he completely lacks experience in anything related to politcs, and he's by far the most boring and low energy candidate on the field right now. Him being black is really the only reasonable explanation of why he's able to poll above 1%

Also, he constantly sounds like he's on the verge of breaking down and crying.
