No he didn't because he's a man that doesn't want to become a woman and have sex with other men. Not that there's anything wrong with that, but if you're not in that crowd then you're not allowed to join the victim club.

Don't downplay her point, call it for what it is. They are legit death threats with private info included, not just 8 year olds on XBL. but the fact of the matter is almost all of us have received death threats or gory/violent threats and many of us have had private information released online. That doesn't make you a victim, that makes you a pussy for making such a big deal about it. You want to break gender stereotypes? Then stop acting like such a fucking girl about everything all the time. Also, I'm going to come to your house, chop off your head and shove a pencil in your pussy. See? Just words, welcome to the internet ass whipe. Here's a complimentary dildo so you can go fuck yourself. See how much fun we're all having?

Besides, they are doing the lions share of doxxing and harassment, everyone else is just fucking with them and they get bored. But feminists will find who you are, where you live, where your parents live, publish their number and address, contact your employer, contact your school, etc etc so they are kind of lobbying against themselves really.

Shit, just look at Voat. To this day these femanazis have done everything to shut us down and have been ddosing us for months. You have to look no further than your backyard to see who's really being "harassed" and the court of law does not play these stupid fucking gender politics games, so be careful what you wish for

Shit, I once had people go over my profile on Facebook and threaten to release a video, where I at one point put my finger inside my ass (I thought it was in confidence with a woman I met online that was doing nasty shit as well). I laughed at them, told them I didn't give a shit and cut communication. They were nice enough to not follow up. Internet is hard if you don't have experience.

Kinda ridiculous to say "almost all of us have received death threats", but I don't agree with their movement either.

When I had ascended to Major in Halo someone on the other team commented that I was a major. His friend was all MAJOR? MOAR LIKE MAJOR COCK SUCKER!!! I heard multiple online voices laughing after that.

Whenever I get in an argument on my XBOX the other person just says the word Faggot, repeating the hateful word ad nauseum louder and louder every time I try to speak

Their answer to this is that it gives gamers a space where they can be sexist, and none of those spaces should exist... So they argue against common sense... thatbwould be like a fit man going into a curves gym and crying because they won't give him a membership.

Here is the speech.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sKZIV04wODQ

Zoe Quinn's speech, although self serving and omits information, does not make me completely sick. Anita Sarkeesian's ideas are entirely horseshit. I don't think most feminists that don't fall into the tumblr domain can even stand her. "your a liar, you suck" is harassment" per Anita. Because Anita Sarkeesian is a liar who sucks, in my opinion.

[–] process-oriented 0 points 11 points (+11|-0) ago  (edited ago)

TL;DR

Zoe Quinn demands at the Commission’s Working Group on Gender of the UN Women the reversal of the burden of proof.  The idea behind her approach contradicts the idea behind Art. 11, Sec. 1 of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, the human right of "presumption of innocence" in a criminal trial, which was adopted by the United Nations General Assembly on 10 December 1948.

Various women sitting next to her. Not even one of these women interrupts her and asks her about the "presumption of innocence" or the burden of proof and human rights. One woman sitting to her left nods the whole time, while Zoe Quinn speaks these words, at the end of her statement clapping and applauding is heared.

Zoe Quinn is in line with the radical feminist dogma of empowering herself and the group she chose to represent at the cost of every other person/group and she follows her agenda without hesitation, even in front of a panel of the UN Women and no one knows how/ why she got there.

Often underreported or overlooked, Zoe Quinn says something that really gets me every time a person says it while keeping a straight face (last time was the handling of rape allegations in universities):

Zoe Quinn (3:56): „… We need people that are belonging to these demographics working in these departments ... proper legislation that talks to me and people who live and work online, that doesn't destroy the vital points of anonymity ..."

-

(Zoe Quinn reports, she allegedly sat silently in a chat room for two weeks witnessing how others were planning how to get her to commit suicide)

Zoe Quinn (7:22): "Often the onus of proving this falls on the victim and that is something that really needs to change going forward."

-

(Zoe Quinn talking about people calling her slurs on twitter)

Zoe Quinn (7:44): "It shouldn't be on people like me to have to prove this."

This can be interpreted in two ways.

First interpretation: Zoe Quinn wants to establish that people have to believe her/other accusers of wrongdoing if allegations are made. She wants to enforce punishment through international legislation and monitoring anonymous people.

Second interpretation: Zoe Quinn wants to shift the burden of proof upon the accused. If someone can’t prove he is innocent he should be punished according to upcoming international legislation.

Both interpretations are two sides of the same coin. An accuser should be believed. The accused has to prove he is not guilty. Plus legislation and punishment of the accused.

Her mentioning of legislation is vague. I know that there is a kind of gap comparing a privately owned company which excludes someone from their service and the government punishing someone. But Zoe Quinn stresses that she wants legislation to address the issue plus the involved tech companies should enforce their terms of use with the help of third parties, like herself and her peer-to-peer network and many others, as if these were laws. And this should be done without questioning the allegations of the accuser and shifting the burden of proof on the accused. She wants people of certain demographics to work in tech to address the issues, though the users should be anonymous. She wants every tech company to side with her and take part in this, so there are many varieties to punish an individual being accused of wrongdoing. Plus she wants to stay in charge of allegations, because she is also stressing that there are already people doing this work (Sarkeesian, herself, Harper, Eveleth etc.). She wants herself and her peer-groups to be judge and executioner in one person after „proper“ legislation is adopted.

The general legal burden of proof can be described by this: „The necessity of proof always lies with the person who lays charges“ or simpler „the one who wants something has to prove that the legal requirements are met“. And since she is talking in context of violence, criminal acts or „should be criminal acts“, legally speaking we are getting in the realms of criminal justice. If not criminal justice in a sense of punishment by the government - though I can see this as a possible next step - then at least a punishment by privately owned companies because of unproven allegations of an accuser and biased people of certain demographics sitting in every tech company.

If you ask legal professionals about the principle of the "presumption of innocence“ in criminal trials, every single one of them and I mean everyone, really every legal professional will tell you, that this is one of the fundamental principles our criminal justice system is based upon.

If my word isn’t enough:

The United Nations General Assembly has adopted the Universal Declaration of Human Rights on 10 Dezember 1948. Article 11, Section 1 of the U.N. Universal Declaration of Human Rights states:

Article 11. (1) Everyone charged with a penal offence has the right to be presumed innocent until proved guilty according to law in a public trial at which he has had all the guarantees necessary for his defence.

This is the human right of "presumption of innocence“ in criminal justice adopted by the United Nations in 1948.

We are talking about a big part of our future society. The internet has revolutionized our way of living and will continue to change it in the upcoming future. Being excluded from the internet is nowadays a big problem in western societies, beginning with social media, using e-mails as a surrogate for physical letters and participation in the global community. In the future your life will be much, much more difficult if you can’t use the internet or certain parts of it. If Zoe Quinn or any other person with her attitude succeeds, it is enough that someone says you did wrong without having to prove it and your life will be much, much harder.

Edit:

How is it possible, that a woman with next to no knowledge of context and comprehension of building societies has the guts to speak to a panel of the UN Women and demand that basic judicial principles should be changed? Why does no woman at the panel stops this and asks her what she means? Why do all these women seem to be emotionally on the same page as Ms. Quinn but do not challenge her rationally? Are we drifting into a world of muppets? I don't know ...

Please, scrutinize the text above. I may be wrong and I want to discuss this as it is part of other ideologies that gain traction. Maybe we can learn by discussing this.

As an older woman (insert standard I'm a grill joke here) that loves video games, this makes me very sad. I worry so much about all of this false victimization and the coercion of younger women into these movements that end up promoting the very thing these women are supposedly trying to stop.

I see so much hatred for women circulating on the internet due to these types of false arguments that it makes me fear for the future of relationships between men and women. I wanted to be more insightful in this comment, but honestly, this whole thing just makes me very sad.

You're not wrong. There is a side of this that is trying to destroy relationships between men and women. Many of the supporters have mental disorders and hate people in traditional relationships.

[–] intrepiddemise 0 points 7 points (+7|-0) ago

The damage to relationships between men and women caused by this victim complex mentality is real and is already happening. The first page of search results on this issue will likely bring up a number of opinion pieces (often by women themselves) lamenting or defending the lack of willingness of men to marry in today's society.

[–] cynoclast 0 points 2 points (+2|-0) ago

I saw this yesterday on facebook. Woman posted an article on facebook by a woman lamenting the fact that it's true that there's a "shortage of available men". The article then dismissed men without degrees as men. Then a facebook friend commented about how men won't "grow up and settle down and create a family".

Well no shit, I've seen what happens to a majority of those men. My own mother did it. Two (female) friends of mine did it. They're more often than not meal tickets that get dumped when she gets bored. Of course we don't want to get married, it's a fucking scam.

70% of divorces are initiated by women and the reason is boredom. To be blunt marriage used to be about owning a woman. But the social pendulum is all the way on the other side where it's a way to take economic advantage of a man, then dump him when you get bored of him. It's men who've become disposable.
