In the past, the mainstream media were independent entities but now they're all owned by multinational corporations that have no national allegiances at all. They don't care about what's good for the country (any country) all they care about are profits, and their media outlets are there to both make profits through advertising, and support a narrative that will increase profits for their other ventures, including the military industrial complex, so yeah, the media is propaganda, since they speak for multinational corporate interests. The same multinational corporations also have literally bribed the government through various means, including but not restricted to campaign finances and the revolving door.

As Donald Trump states clearly - the system is broken, he has bought influence by donating to campaigns, and that's not how it should be, but as the head of a corporation, it's the strategic thing to do, and everyone does it. It's not a secret, yet the media don't cover it because they are part of it.

I respect Trump's conviction and honesty, he is who he is. Unlike Obama I believe he will keep to his word because he won't lie except by omission, his ego demands his pridefully be vocal and direct. I think he honestly wants America's adoration, he cannot have that by being a bald liar and he actually knows this. He is otherwise a very flawed man, but that is secondary features. I admire his honest confidant reaction to having those features pointed out.

That's what the MSM, long since decayed beyond the ability to investigate and understand, fails to understand like Gamergate and Bernie Sanders and #BLM and increasingly everything. People are sick of this, no matter how little they've researched.

The one reason that I believe Trump might actually pull through with what he's saying is because he doesn't seem to be in it for the money this time. He mentioned his wealth what, once? Right now, his driver is his ego. He wants to be in the history books as the next Washington. Someone everyone talks about for years and years after his death. Someone schools teach: "this is the man who changed America."

He has such a huge ego that it just might work.

Here's a great graphic that shows this.

"NOTE: This infographic is from last year (2011) and is missing some key transactions. GE does not own NBC (or Comcast or any media) anymore. So that 6th company is now Comcast. And Time Warner doesn't own AOL, so Huffington Post isn't affiliated with them."

Source: BusinessInsider

So the article is from 2012 and the graphic from 2011 so there may have been some changes since then. Here's an article from freepress titled "Who Owns the Media?" which shows who owns what in TV and Radio, Cable and Communications, Print and Internet.

I can't fathom how stupid people have to be to not see American media as propaganda. The level of brainwashing is actually pretty impressive.

Try having a conversation with some random people about serious issues. The people are either highly ignorant of whats going on or they sound like someone turned on the tv to fox news.

And also had several companies go bankrupt...

Socialize losses and privatize profits, eh Trump?

Hate the game, not the player. He beat the system, now he's (hopefully) trying to unbreak it.

Yes. A large group of people don't think the media is the pure propaganda it is. And most of those that do think that station that's on the other side is the propaganda while their news station is good.

If this was not the case, Ron Paul would be president as we speak.

The same thing is happening to Rand Paul right now! And yet OP's rant is on the front page of Voat, complaining about how Sanders is being ignored? Come on, Voat, we need an anti-establishment candidate, and Rand is on record going against his own party and supporting the Constitution repeatedly.

No, he's not perfect and he's not his father, but I find it infuriating that Voat seems completely unwilling to support him while they push the pro-Sanders line every single day. They're both anti-establishment and they both have their own ideas and seem to have the will of the People in mind. Why is Rand being ignored while Sanders is being supported?

Ron Paul made a notion that both Bernie and Trump are authorizations in his latest podcast. Poor guy, we didn't listen.

I can't believe how little attention that this story received at the time.

The US is choosing to be be led by propaganda. It is what this country wants. No one is interested in a real debate and carefully weighing the issues based on factual information anymore. The only thing that matters is winning for our team. Thats what we have been reduced to fans for a team who don't even have a good sport. We are way to loyal to these people we are electing to serve US... We will overlook the fact that our candidate is seriously shitty preferring to stay on full attack of the opposition. We point the accusing finger at the opposition and get offended when they don't want to hear what we have to say about their messed up choice all while shouting them down when they talk about ours.

This political atmosphere sucks. We are extreme in everything we do. We are too polite SJW or we are the opposite straight up assholes. We are either rude as hell and insulting and pissed of at political correctness or we are crazy as hell and wanting jail time for someone stepping on a spider by accident or arrest kids for calling someone a poopy head.

What happened to real conversation thinking things through or changing your mind being fluid with your process for choosing a candidate. We are allowed to change our minds we don't have to decide and draw battle lines right this second. I was once on the Hillary band wagon, but I also considered Chris Christie and now am thinking about Bernie Sanders. When they say something I feel is important I read up on it and as the debate goes on I may change my mind again. No one owns my vote or my loyalty right now. I don't care about the history of what a Republican or a Democrat stood for; they change sides all the time. I am going to voat the issues. Not the party.

We messed up when we forgot one thing.

Our allegiance is to our country NOT the political party (now which are more like gangs) we choose.

Until we remember this we will continue to fall behind other nations and be bought and sold out while we cheer on our political team.

Divide and conquer. The two parties are now an illusion. You can choose R or D, they are the same. Different rhetoric, same result behind the scenes. The same puppet masters control both parties, they cannot lose as long as the D and R fight each-other (it's pure theater) meanwhile the citizens are being robbed blind.
