That's an excellent point. What has he actually done, in his 35 years as a professional politician?

Other than be a voice of sanity against majorly idiotic congressional decisions?

Yes. I'd like to hear about him doing something that cost him something. Instead, people keep saying how he's basically Jesus because he said this one thing, at absolutely zero risk or cost to himself.

So what you and the other guy who replied to me are saying is "but all of the others are just as bad"? Well, I agree, but if that's the case, then why the flying fuck is Voat flooded with fucking Bernie?!

Also how did he prove he can't be bought? All he's proven is that nobody cared about him enough to buy him.

Gone against the patriot act, every unnecessary oil grab in the middle east, improved Vermont's economy, education, and in general made it less of the northeast's third world retreat, an very much more.

As an Independent, we cannot expect him to get anything done. But, if someone wants a change from the last 30 years of neo-lib economic policy, then they better look at Bernie.

If you like neo-lib economic policy, then vote for any of them. Let you single social issue separate them for you.

A river changes courses one pebble at a time. Something as soft as water caresses its hard stone walls and over time exponential factors will have long lasting effects. What if more independents are elected in future elections as a result, and the future career politician are the ones that hold the general public interest in the highest regard, regardless of which party they derive? #Trump2016

I understand that he can't realistically accomplish much. But the point is that he never even tried.

Just a few days ago he was blabbering about how the war on drugs is terrible and ends up with people who never hurt anybody in prison. And I agree! It's terrible, the US really needs to rethink its approach to drugs. But this has been a well-known problem for decades. Why hasn't Sanders come out sooner? Why hasn't he at least tried to change that insane legal framework that allows courts to send people to prison for life for a few grams of coke - even if his proposal had little chance for success? Instead, he was sitting in his cushy chair, doing jack shit - and now he says he'll do something after you give him power, and everyone loses their shit as if Jesus himself descended from heavens?!

He's Obama 2.0, nothing else. I feel like I somehow ended up in 2008 again.
