I hear a lot of criticism of Sanders here, but it's almost entirely just empty insults. What has he actually done that merits all the hate he gets?

That's an excellent point. What has he actually done, in his 35 years as a professional politician?

Other than be a voice of sanity against majorly idiotic congressional decisions?

Gone against the patriot act, every unnecessary oil grab in the middle east, improved Vermont's economy, education, and in general made it less of the northeast's third world retreat, an very much more.

As an Independent, we cannot expect him to get anything done. But, if someone wants a change from the last 30 years of neo-lib economic policy, then they better look at Bernie.

If you like neo-lib economic policy, then vote for any of them. Let you single social issue separate them for you.

What has he actually done that merits all the love he gets?

He has consistently given the same message over that entire time whether it was popular or not. He generally pisses off large donors instead of crawling into bed with them. He doesn't run negative campaign ads. He's a socialist who appeals to conservatives. What's not to love?

I notice he's been attempting to get the government to actually follow the 4th Amendment, and he was against the war in Iraq.

Told everyone that their failures are not their own, but a result of forces out of their control manipulating their fate from the shadows? That's a tempting message no matter where you stand on the political spectrum.

Some of us like America and don't want it turned into Denmark. Specifically, the things that Sanders hates, like free markets and military power, are the exact things that allow America to lead the world.

Capitalism just allow big corporations to rule the average persons. It's getting worse all the time.

Capitalism is failing us. Nobody is suggesting converting America to complete socialism. But adopting some socialist ideas would probably help us.

People should be able to get medical treatment or go to college without tens of thousands of dollars of debt.

His stance on Israel's treatment of the Palestinians is very disturbing. It's cookie-cutter zionist claptrap.

I do disagree with his pro-Israel stance.
