You said "politics is just voting, right" in a douchey sarcastic manner, making me assume you dont think politics is just voting. Which I agree, politics can be violence. I put a question mark cuz I wasnt sure your stance, other than politics is not just about votes. So what is politics also about? Violence is in there somewhere.

If you have to eventually use force to get what you want, wouldn't it be nifty to have the State and the legitimacy of Law to do it? In fact, I'd argue it's the only way. Otherwise, you're just going to wind up in a Federal prison. Its not my emotions or anything saying this, I'm just coldly and objectively stating how it is.

You cant have the State do it when the State is the issue. Federal prison, nor death, should be a deterrent to uphold your rights. Even against the State.
