You're going to get ripped off most likely, but if you don't have a gun already I'd definitely get one. Ammo isn't nearly as cheap as it once was (uncommon calibers like 6.5 grendel and 32 ACP are still about the same price as before) so practicing might get pricey, but you really should have one imo.

Paul Harrell has some good videos on gun buying in this crisis:

My top recommendations would be a cheap AR15 in 5.56mm for home defense, such as from Palm Springs Armory. As far as a handgun for concealed carry goes, there's so many options and sizes it's ridiculous, but I prefer something small that you will always have on you such as a Ruger LCP II or a Glock 42. If you can manage to conceal something larger, then there are much better options of course, just make sure you pick something that you know you'll carry. For me, anything larger than a glock 42 would be a chore to carry and that would mean I'd be less likely to have it on my person 100% of the time. This is what Paul calls "program compliance".

I just drove down the street and they had 5.56, 308, 30-06, 12 gauge, 22lr (only 4 boxes), and 9mm in stock. Generally it was one, maybe two brands, but you could've walked out with hundreds of rounds of everything except the 22LR. I guess it depends on the area, but every gun store I've been to recently has had most of the common ammo types. From what I've seen on ammoseek prices are way up though, and there definitely are shortages, but it's not impossible to find.

556/223 or any pistol is not for home defense you gangster rap listening-to nigger. I bet you use a wrench to hammer nails into your dollhouse too.

Comprehensive home defense has, and always will be a shotgun. 12g pump action (or semi) and is cheap. Mag always loaded with 2-3/4 buckshot with no round in chamber, (condition 4) or condition 1 with a safety (full mag round in Chamber). With radioactive sights (battery-less sights for dark areas. A cheap mod). kept by the bedside. Pistol for personal carry outside the home. 556 will rip through your walls into neighbors house, and Used for tactical multi targets such as approaching aggressive “protestors”, and large game hunting.

Tell me how that pump shotgun works when 30 people are outside your house with ARs and AKs calling for your death... like what's happening right now in America.

Pistol I’d go glock or sig. 9mm is fine if your good at it. Practicing with higher cal gets expensive and unessesary with hollow points are going to open up tyrone just as good. 9mm more common if you run out because zombie land.
