I wouldn't consider a capitalist society with some business regulation to be socialist but I respect your interpretation of it. I consider socialist to be where most contributors to gdp are operated by the state and that was my reference for the meme.

Well this isn't about what YOU or I consider to be this or that. It's about WHAT WORDS MEAN. You can't change the meaning of a word and then use it seriously.

As such, ANY kind of regulation of business or capitalism that seeks to curtail inequity IS A SOCIALIST POLICY. <--- PERIOD! That's what it means!

Does it mean "it's a purely socialist country"? Well no, obviously. It's like the people in the USA have been brainwashed that "socialism = bad" so any mention of "socialist" seems to mean to them "EXTREME ABSOLUTE FANATICAL SOCIALISM". Black or white but grey doesn't exist.

These various schools disagree on almost everything,

But you have THE correct definition? Is Venezuela incorrect in self describing itself as socialist?

To further clarify, most European countries have capitalist economies with socialist governance. And it's a great balance!

On the one hand, companies do their best to make products, compete and profit. Within regulations. But there is huge potential for abuse and growing iniquity.

On the other hand, you have a government that (theoretically) is looking after the needs of the population at large and, through taxation (which is theft either way, but let's not digress), regulation and social programs, balances out the tendency of capitalism to steal all the wealth created and put it in the pockets of a select few.

For decades, this has worked perfectly in most of Europe, Canada, and many other nations. However, as we all know, (((they))) seek to destroy us and infiltrated themselves everywhere, and now governments are the puppets of the super-rich, which (((they))) control, and as such, this system has broken down.

For many decades, life was better in most every country built on this capitalist / moderate socialism model than those adopting anything else.
