Is there a way to obtain a quick (and affordable) genetic test based on a small sample, like, saliva on a glass, someone's hair, i.e., stuff you might be able to obtain surreptitiously during a first date? at least to know whether you are dealing with a XX or XY individual -- more info about their ethnic background and health risks would be nice too, but that would be a start....
Now of course, this could lead to an arms race and the freaks could go full gattaca on you (if you haven't seen the movie, a defective protagonist finds a way to cheat perfectly reasonable screening requirements but I digress) - but darn, we need a future proof way to identify these people; they are currently so grotesquely obvious, but advances in technology might make it increasingly less so....

This technology will be available within about 5 years. Until then just look at the thumbs and adam's apple. Or just wait for xir to open hir mouth and speak.

I find that having sex with the person provides the access necessary to surreptitiously obtain a DNA sample.
Joking. Only joking.

Sure, but I would rather avoid getting into a ‘crying game’ situation... and find out as early as possible.
Note that short of a genetic analysis, we might be able to come up with an app that would analyze facial features - might not work with freaks that were ‘transitioned’ when prepubescent - and this is becoming a trend - but could help in the screening process... I wonder how long it would take for such an app to get banned.
