Attempting to move toward fiscal responsibility is a positive move. Purposefully spending as much as possible before declaring bankruptcy is morally reprehensible. Most people can not spend into oblivion and then suddenly become fiducially responsible. Good point, Patriot.

I will share a relatable true story. I lived in Southern Arizona back in 2007, just before the housing crash. The people on the ground know what is about to happen long before the "intellectuals" and "economists" have a clue. I remember I saw it coming when I could go to Best Buy and illegals were loading up shopping carts (plural) to the top with electronics. They were all headed South and had no intention of paying for any of it. It was out in the open, anyone with half a brain could observe and figure out what was happening, but nobody cared. Unfortunately, unless we have a global cataclysmic event, we can't get out of our debt. Maybe DC knows something we don't?
