It's not a misconception. Compare those percentages to the demographics of the states involved, I'd be willing to bet that they abort at a higher rate than whites. I don't have that data on hand, though.
We're not going to go from where we are now to right-wing death squads overnight. We haven't crossed the Rubicon yet, so we must make do with the tools we have at hand.
