All the people commenting on mainstream youtube news channels were saying the guy just did it for attention. Anytime a brown person commits a high profile crime we're supposed to consider their side of the story; what their childhood was like, what conditions they live in, etc. White guy shoots up a Mosque specifically in order to make a point and people act like he's some angsty teen on a Ritalin-fueled power trip with no complex motivation. Or just an "extremist" handwave. No curiosity. Nobody asking what could drive an ordinary person to throw away their innocence and freedom. Nobody reminding us to consider the larger context. These people claim to be on the side of peace and reason, but they are condemning the west to more and more violence the longer they keep their heads in the sand.
