Well lets look at McCains life:

Step one: be born to an Admiral

Step two: Fly around Texas, shut off the engine, crash and end up with a promotion

Step three: Fly recklessly in Spain, crash into power lines, cause a blackout, end up with a promotion

Step Four: Blow up a plane on the flight deck, end up with a promotion

Step Five: Crash a trainer into the ground, blah blah bla promotion

Step Six: Get shot down in Vietnam, get captured, get removed from normal POW camp to go into kushy "Aadmirals Son" camp, become Senator

McCain is not a war hero. He's a stupid spoiled rich kids son that has never done anything but fuck up I should know. We can tell our own kind when we see them.

Oh yea?

Fuck you. You toupeed asshat.

Lets see you fool America into electing a former POW with down syndrome, paying for the SNL bailout, creating Al-Qaeda, creating ISIL-ISIS.

Hell I even created Sara Palin. If I can push that mouth-breathing bimbo on America I can do anything.

I don't understand... Both of these accounts are over a month old. Have you two been planning this joke for a month?

Actually I do believe only two of those were found to be his fault and he only received two promotions in his career.

Also what does being born to an admiral have to do with anything? If we went with that then what about Donald Trump being born to a wealthy family? At least John McCain didn't hide stateside and actually went to war instead of getting deferments or having his dad place him somewhere safe.

First they tortured him until they found out who his father was... then they put him in solitary confinement for 2 years while being tortured...then he turned down being released early unless all the POW's captured before him were released. John McCain was tortured so bad he can't raise his arms above his head. Sounds fucking kushy. Maybe Donald Trump should try out this kushy camp.

I don't know about the military back then, but currently you can reach the rank of E-7 for enlisted or O-6 for officers by existing long enough.

Notice how it's in single quotation marks, Trump never said the quote in the title. I can't believe that's their headline considering the third sentence of the article literally starts off with "He's a war hero" admittedly with a stipulation that most would consider dickish. Still, there's no need to lie about what he actually said.

He did say it, I found a video of it.

First thing he says is "He is not a war hero, he is a war hero because he was captured" Then he starts backpedaling so hard the chain breaks.

Maybe someone who grew up with a whole set of silver spoons, started his business suckling on daddy's teat, and considers bankruptcy a business plan, shouldn't be commenting on the "war hero" status of someone who spent years being tortured in a foreign prisoner camp and still managed to work his ass off to make something of himself.

John McCain is the son a senator. They're both silver spoon trust fund babies. And arguably, they have both suckled the tit of the tax payer.

[–] James557 0 points 6 points (+6|-0) ago

And while one was still suckling the tit and dodging the draft, the other was being tortured in a foreign prison camp for 5 years.

Politics aside, especially since bringing that shit up has absolutely nothing to do with politics, it's totally hitting below the belt, there's no reason for it, and it just makes him sound like an enormous cunt,

John McCain is the son and grandson of admirals. He served his time in The US Navy honorably. While he was a prisoner of the North Vietnamese he received some extra attention because he was the son of a serving admiral.

John McCain is a smoozing cronyizer imperialist who never saw a third world country he didn't want to invade, or a friendly lobbyist that he didn't allow to line his pockets.

This guy is like a train wreck. I'm not a big McCain fan, but Donald Trump is no one to be questioning his service.

Some Quotes from [Wiki] "... of the USS Forrestal fire. He escaped from his burning jet and was trying to help another pilot escape when a bomb exploded;[28] McCain was struck in the legs and chest by fragments.[29] The ensuing fire killed 134 sailors and took 24 hours to control.[30][31] With the Forrestal out of commission, McCain volunteered for assignment with the USS Oriskany, another aircraft carrier employed in Operation Rolling Thunder.[32] Once there, he would be awarded the Navy Commendation Medal and the Bronze Star for missions flown over North Vietnam." Also " Altogether, McCain was a prisoner of war in North Vietnam for five and a half years. He was released on March 14, 1973. His wartime injuries left him permanently incapable of raising his arms above his head."

There was a time when I would have vehemently argued with you about McCain. There was a time when he spoke his mind, seemed honest and was a politician I voted for. Ahhh, 2000. Him and GWB waged a war for the party. GWB of course won and the Republicans lost a generation. And then McCain swung way right and became the rabid little man he is today.

McCain is the major advocate against the US torture program. Like him or not, he is an important figure that is actively attempting to stop the US from being unethical to POWs.

Because he's the only one talking about issues like immigration and TPP-things people are angry about, but none of the "serious" candidates seem willing to do anything about.

"I never liked him after that, because I don't like losers," Trump said.

Wouldn't bankruptcy be a kind of losing?

It's only losing if you aren't losing other peoples money.

Losing other peoples money is the definition of bankruptcy.

Trump Every two party candidate is a creep who will say what he thinks people want to hear.

Fixed that for you. Lets talk about overreaching problems instead of people.

I honestly believe Hilary Clinton paid him to run as a distraction. This is the only logical explanation for his actions.

[–] Duckies 0 points 5 points (+5|-0) ago

It's FAR more likely that the RNC is urging him to stay in the spotlight because he makes Jeb look moderate by comparison. That's the end game, don't forget: Jeb gets the nomination and needs to have the subtitle "Right-leaning moderate" so that the middle will vote for him. The Right will have no choice but to do so, otherwise they let "that woman" win, the left has the same strategy about Hillary, don't forget.

The battle is for the middle - and to win the middle your have to appear to best represent them for your respective party. Trump IS a distraction, but he's the Right's distraction, not the Left.

I completely agree with you on Trump because I think most people who would support him would be willing to settle for another Bush. However, I don't think that's what's happening on the left. Many people who are excited for somebody like Sanders would not vote for Hillary in a million years. Her own pollsters are realizing this and seemingly confused, but it's not rocket science. Hillary is a pandering corporatist, Sanders is her opposite. Her suddenly trying to go populist is as going to come off as disingenuous as everything else she does. She can't erase her history. She can't go without, let alone erase, her corporate funding.

This is the only thing that makes sense! Trump is only here to distract everyone from the others.
