OK, I just thought of a better way to put this.

I really get into "Free Man of the Land" "Sovereign Citizen" cases. As a person who is rather Libertarianish, it tickles my funny bone.

However, as much as I want to defend these nut jobs, I have to acknowledge that the law doesn't work the way the Sovereign Citizens want it to work. This doesn't make me a hypocrite. It makes me a realist. I can sympathize with these nut jobs and even advocate for some of the wacky stuff they believe and still point out that they are incorrect.

nothing a libertarian advocates for would protect crazy people who misunderstand outdated laws, but if someone advocates for free speech as their first principal that should include speech they don't like or think is a bad idea.
