It really is like a different religion isn't it? All of my conceptions about Christianity were flipped on their head the more I got into Orthodoxy and then it just made perfect sense. I really think it could make a lot of headway in the US if more people understood what it actually is.
Of course we all have our different talents and interests but if you happen to be a fan of philosophy you should check out Jay Dyer. Another great speaker is hank hanegraaff. Found them both recently-ish.

I follow jay dyer like a horny schoolgirl. I'll definitely check out hank.
I have legitimately given paganism a chance "for our folk" but I think orthodoxy teaches a more complete view of God. I'll teach my children both but it's pretty obvious is honest comparison which of the two has more sound theology and potential for a stable civilization.
I don't know how Orthodox is, but one thing that always bothered me in protestant churches is the anti-creativity attitude. They don't allow mastery of the arts, they discourage "complex" music as it "distracts from the glory of God". I'm a musician. A good one. This is one reason I don't go to church anymore. At least jay loves the arts and brings a good name to it.

No my friend, Orthodoxy does not espouse that. Anybody who believes art or music distracts from the glory of God has a gross misunderstanding about God.
Without art or music in any way we are essentially emotionless robots devoid of life, the antithesis of God.
That's why TPTB are waging war on beauty and the arts, pumping out all this garbage assembly line music and "modern art" which is either grotesque or a blank blue canvas, and then applauded for being rebellious even though everybody is doing it. Butt-ugly architecture. It's all about leading away from God whether some of the people doing it realize it or not. You think it's a coincidence these circles are inundated with atheist leftists?
Beauty, art, love, these are the paths that lead you to God. all beauty derives from God. When you realize this, the world starts to make a lot more sense. You mentioned you are a musician, haven't you ever had that feeling where the music is flowing through you and you are just letting it happen? And your soul is just on fire. That's God. And that's what we are. Conduits. That is what surrender means. Surrendering to that power and allowing God to work through you, to change you, in every way, because without that we are dead. That is the beginning of the Holy Spirit.
You know the "hippie" stereotype? It's actually pretty close to Orthodoxy. Oneness with nature https://youtu.be/RT9KqXHnqmw love, rejection of the technocracy developing in the modern age, meditation (contemplative prayer), living in the present, even the third eye is not at odds with Orthodoxy

Satan constantly tries to imitates and corrupt God's truth, lies based on truth are the most effective. And another consequence is that many Christians distance themselves from anything associated with the New Agers/Hippies in any conceivable way (like you mentioned about art and music), denouncing it as Satanic, and in doing so they actually reject the truly Christian elements these leftists tried to hijack. It punches in both directions.
