If sexual orientation is not born-in, then heterosexual orientation is not born in.

No one is saying it is... in fact, I'm of the opinion that bi-sexuality is the default for mammals.

Bisexual Species: Unorthodox Sex in the Animal Kingdom

(disregard the lack of CSS formatting, it's a cached version of Richard Dawkins' old site... but it's the only place to find the entire article without a paywall) EDIT: ok... I guess not.. will try to find a different link - which sucks because that was the only place I could find the whole article last time this came up)

individual animals generally cannot be classified as gay or straight: an animal that engages in a same-sex flirtation or partnership does not necessarily shun heterosexual encounters. Rather many species seem to have ingrained homosexual tendencies that are a regular part of their society. That is, there are probably no strictly gay critters, just bisexual ones. "Animals don't do sexual identity. They just do sex," says sociologist Eric Anderson of the University of Bath in England.

People seem to forget that humans are animals. We weren't "designed".... there are very few things that are "fixed" or inherent.. the only thing "life" cares about is what's advantageous.

Can't get into this too much more (really just copying old comments I made), I'm at work and everything I would need to look up would.. well, I'd rather not have to explain my browser history if someone asks (mostly because it will become glaringly obvious that I'm not working if anyone notices..lol)

Spend a little time thinking about what this means. It means neither is entirely inborn, and in fact, choosing a "preference" is unnatural

That's not what it means at all. That's actually a really bizarre interpretation of what's tantamount to "animals are bi-sexual by default". I'm not seeing how that doesn't support "my" theory.

BTW, have you ever met a lesbian who hasn't been shaped (so to speak) by negative male interactions? If males are visual... (and what they see is unattractive...)

BTW 2: ^ That's also a big part of why even straight men spend more time looking at other men's crotches than women
