Not at all, but is shows where a kind of lax and New World economic profit for the sake of economic profit leads to a certain extent. Others have to suffer the consequence but life goes on and life is more complex and variable outside of just looking at it from that angle, but the essence of its importance needs to be stressed in the right context.

It almost has an impact on the consciousness of a nation when that happens and it usually is not for the positive. It has a evolutionary and psychological impact that is incalculable. Just look at how having a paternal line from Eurasian impacted the Prussians. All these regions and nations that have their well known melding of the Old and New World are not doing so well. Look at South-Africa, who had multiple intermarriages with Indians and a Khoi-Khoi interpreter and then you have the Mesoamerican story. I guess its not always good to be one-drop, but I think its generally a good thing to be one-drop oriented. People tend to forget that one of the most successful Republican constituencies, Ohio, is the origin of the one drop rule.

The New Englander establishment was not one-drop, but they did not have people marrying with non-whites until much later onwards(runaway slaves and marriages with Native Americans on the frontier of New England). I guess part of it is natural and unavoidable, but it is essential to preserve the purity of race, as much as it exists.
