Blocked? No.
"Rejected" by a RINO looking to make sure he can land a cushy job after retiring? Yes.

Ryan doesn't "support" the idea, but that doesn't block the process.

“Do I support impeachment of Rod Rosenstein? No, I do not,” said Ryan, whose stance could make it easier for other Republican members to oppose the measure.

Good catch. I've downvoted the OP. It should be resubmitted with a better headline.

Modern "democracy" is a joke.

[–] Nutkase 1 points 23 points (+24|-1) ago  (edited ago)

Well technically we're a republic. True democracy sounds great but it ends up being two wolfs and a sheep voting on whats for dinner. I do get your point though.

[–] Oh_Well_ian 3 points 7 points (+10|-3) ago

lol we're not a Republic

we're an Oligarchy

[–] GapingAnus 0 points 2 points (+2|-0) ago

Well technically we're a republic

A republic is a democratic form of governance. As is a constitutional monarchy with a parliament. You're thinking of direct democracy.

True democracy does not sound great at all lol. Fuck mob rule

[–] Atomized_Individual 0 points 1 points (+1|-0) ago  (edited ago)

It would be 6 whites, 2 hispanics, 1 black, and 1 "other" voting on who is going to GTFO

(((Paul Ryan)))

This impeachment thing was just theatre to start the pressure. It was never going to go through especially before the midterms.

Trump is trying to get public distrust of Rosenstein with these moves to build towards ousting him. Problem is he needs more Trumpists in the Senate before he can do that because there's no point firing this Jew if his replacement will need to be confirmed by the current Senate.

When the left starts the shooting war this traitor will not find a hole deep enough to save himself.

[–] getmeofftheplanet 0 points 1 points (+1|-0) ago

It's the 2nd time he's stabbed his party or trump in the back. During elections he was read to drop Trump like a hot potato when the grab her by the pussy tape came out.

A House Republican aide said the two lawmakers were not trying to force quick action on the measure.

[–] thisistotallynotme 1 points 8 points (+9|-1) ago  (edited ago)

Notice this doesn't defeat or stop the Articles of Impeachment in any way.

This is Paul Ryan being testy before leaving office. He's already gone off-script, trying to separate himself and his neoconservative loyals from the Trump train. The Tea Party republicans are finally gaining the majority post-2018, and they're trying to be as obstructive as possible while they're leaving office.

I wonder if this will affect the deal they all made to "retire and not be prosecuted" (i.e. Jason Chaffetz) when all these (40,000+) Huber indictments get unsealed?

[–] lanre 0 points 1 points (+1|-0) ago

Saw an article by Chaffetz recently on Fox saying he retired because Sessions is a pussy who wouldn't prosecute anyone. Seemed like a convenient excuse.

[–] NoRoyalty 0 points 1 points (+1|-0) ago

Ah so that explains the sanctimonious mormon who's retiring.

[–] goblin_ghost 0 points 0 points (+0|-0) ago

He's a Jew first, Mormon second.

[–] speedisavirus 0 points 2 points (+2|-0) ago

An impeachment would have never succeeded. It requires 2/3rds of the senate and that wouldn't happen.

House Speaker rejects Rosenstein impeachment effort | Reuters

'A House Republican aide said the two lawmakers were not trying to force quick action on the measure. '

'WASHINGTON/BOSTON (Reuters) - U.S. House Speaker Paul Ryan on Thursday rejected a move by fellow Republicans to impeach Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein, the No. 2 Justice Department official, who oversees the federal probe of Russia’s role in the 2016 presidential election.“Do I support impeachment of Rod Rosenstein?'

'Asked about the impeachment push, White House spokesman Hogan Gidley told reporters flying aboard Air Force One with Trump to Washington from St. '

'Sessions recused himself from matters that involve the Trump campaign, including the Russia probe, last year because of his role as a top adviser to the campaign. '

'No, I do not,” said Ryan, whose stance could make it easier for other Republican members to oppose the measure. '
