If you dont carry a concealed weapon on campus you are a damn fool and deserve to be shot. Fuck their dumbass laws. Get a gun and carry it everywhere. If someone starts shooting then blow their fucking brains out.

Pro tip: it is not illegal to carry a gun into a private establishment that prohibits guns. However, you must leave if asked to do so or you commit armed trespass.

It is illegal to conceal carry on premises that have a 30.06 sign posted outside and illegal to open carry on premises that have the 30.07 sign posted. the signs must meet the legal requirements or you can ignore them though. Bear in mind this is in regards to texas.

This depends on the state.

That's good to know. I do it anyway. If I am ever asked to leave somewhere i would always oblige.

It's funny how the Constitution is the supreme law of the land, but people think state opinions supersede the 2nd. It clearly states, what isn't already explicitly covered in the Constitution is left to the states to decided. Corruption goes back ages at least beyond my time.

I'm pro gun and I think allowing teachers to arm themselves if they want to is a good idea. I don't however think that will drastically reduce school shootings. Schools generally aren't being shot up by terrorists that are just trying to get a big body count, they are being shot up by ex-students who are specifically pissed off at the school (usually combined with mental illness, etc).

My point is that while making these soft targets less soft is a great goal, the reason schools specifically are having these shootings is not because they are soft targets, it's because the shooters are specifically motivated to attack them. If shooter's were just as motivated to kill police officers, they could probably rack up a body count against them as well (ambush attacks, etc).

I'm pro-gun from a no-guns country and I think arming teachers is a retarded idea. The American response to mass shootings seems to be either: Get rid of all the guns or give everyone guns. Which never addresses the root of the problem. Which is that society is deeply ill and the people need purpose beyond cummies or worshiping shekels.

Take the jewish mexican guy who shot up florida school. There was so many warning flags for this guy that they could of had a parade with them but fuck all happened. I don't think they should of locked the kid up for talking shit online or whatever but some action could have been taken.

I think forcing teachers to be armed would be a retarded idea, but if a teacher has a background that would make them comfortable to do that, or is willing to take some training so they can do it safely, then I don't the sense is specifically blocking them from being armed. How is that making kids safer? I'd venture that most people who are advocating for the end of gun free zones are not advocating that all teachers MUST be armed.

Yes, the Florida shooting really highlights how much room for improvement there is for investigating valid leads, there were so many warnings ahead of time.

That's not the primary difference. They go to the environment that bred in them the most animosity and caused them the most pain. You don't go shoot up a Waffle House, you shoot up the place where kids picked on you, girls wouldn't fuck you, you had no friends, teachers made you feel like you were a fuckup, etc.

Large cities are very much on the liberal side of things.

Hell we elected a lesbian mayor last term.

The gun control situation now sounds like a lose-lose scenario to me.

Option A: We get our guns taken away

Option B: We now have armed police in every school

Option A obviously sucks ass for obvious reasons. Option B though, that’s one move closer to a police state. Allow faculty to carry, that’s it; they aren’t forced to if they don’t want to. Does that sound like a complicated solution?

Teachers should be able to carry a weapon if they want to just like everyone else, but I also like the idea of hiring retired veterans to protect schools. I doubt that many teachers have the mental state required to remain composed and effective during a shooting. I also share your concerns regarding the police state which is why I prefer retired veterans to having police in schools. Their sole responsibility should be to protect the school from deadly threats. Unlike police they shouldn't be involved if a teenager has some illegal vegetables or if one student shoves another or any of the other minor problems that teachers handled on their own before having police in schools was common.

I like this idea, especially if it were combined with a mentorship / counseling program. It'd be good for the vets' mental health, good for the kids' mental health to have a role model or someone they can talk to who isn't an administrator, that sort of thing.
