I will make a very similar point as his, and I'd appreciate it if you would attempt to refute it:
Japan rebuild itself after it suffering two atomic bombs. Germany rebuild itself after losing a world war and become a wealthy nation, almost as if nothing ever happened. It was still germany after losing the war.
How long will it take until people can enjoy christmas festivals again in germany without being afraid of being overrun by a truck? For how will the change in demographics, religion and culture be noticeable in germany? How will that change women's rights, individual rights and freedom of expression in the following 100 years?
It seems to me that atomic bombs and losing a world war has less lasting effects than a change in culture. If you look at voting patterns, it's mostly men who are against this happening and mostly women who are in favor of this happening.
