This just baffles me. I'm educated. I work in a field related to my education but on an engineering project that is unrelated to my field of studies. When I started on this, I knew full well that I had no idea what the hell I was doing, but over time I learned the technical aspects from the other end and have arrived at the point where I understand most of what I am doing and can even recognize and report problems that are not on my end as well as anticipate what the solution will be or at the very least the reaction to the information. And I take pride in the fact that I am able to learn things completely unrelated to my education. Which brings me to my point.
When I see people like these idiots in positions of power way beyond their respective capacities to understand what is going on around them, let alone to intelligently respond to, I have to ask myself if they are even aware of how out of their depth they are. How are they even in their positions? Who thought it was a good idea to put them on these committees? What the fuck is going on in government.
And then I see a turtle on a fence post.

Everything they say is a script given to them by handlers. They are paid propagandists in positions of power due to the idiocy of their constituency, gerrymandering, and 40+ years of established government obfuscation allowing them to lie constantly and get away with anything they want.
