Yep it's already started. Think of a merging between bittorrent and blockchain where you get to connect to an anonymous system. You get paid to contribute. Not only content but bandwidth and hdd space as well all managed by blockchain.

We already have systems like that but they're not widespread, so we need them to gain popularity.

I agree, my IF was a reference to the passage of the bill. Indeed, out beloved gvt wants nothing more than to remove anonymity and thereby stifle and suppress dissent. I acknowledge that this is already happening.

The issue is that the public is lazy and/or, its hard for the writhing mass to bud the needed momentum to do big things like reinvent the internet. Things of this scale do happen, but they usually take some watershed event. For Instance, Boston Massacre, Separatist Fire on Fort Sumter, Rosa Parks. There usually has to be a Flashpoint.
