They should give them bus tickets to LA. It's both cheaper and warmer. Drugs are probably cheaper down there too.

The median rent for a one-bedroom apartment stands at $3,460 a month. But it's not just housing expenses that will eat away at your paycheck. In general, the total cost of living in San Francisco is 62.6% higher than the US average.

It's a premium shithole.

62% higher than the U.S. Average Cost Of Living .... That is unreal.

A minimum wage worker ( $15.00 an hour @ 40 hours a week ) makes $2,400 a month pre-tax .... how in the fuck could anyone afford $3,460 a month just in rent for a 1 bd room shit hole?

They work for a tech company on the peninsula. Apple, Google, etc. They have special busses to pick them up, and have wifi so they can work on the way in. People with normal jobs live in closets and stuff. Or they live in super shitty areas. Oakland across the bay is black and murder central, but cheaper. I don't know how they do it. For a laugh, check out house prices.

The median SF house sales price in 2017 was $1,420,000 (up from $1,325,000 in 2016), and for condos, it was $1,150,000 (up from $1,095,000).

They're a bit cheaper in areas where you're likely to get robbed or murdered.

To be fair, SF has amazing views and terrain, and some pretty nice areas. But there are a lot of sketchy areas and they're pretty pervasive.
