I disagree with the author, that is exactly what she is doing. Her ideology depends on him to say what she wants him to say so she can nail him. She isn't a manipulated fool , she is evil.
The author also uses a purely American situation/example to explain the behavior of a British European woman. If she believes in this 'symbolic racism' or not doesn't matter because she lives in Europe. She is attempting to establish an American system of discrimination against men and native Europeans(whites). Kultur-terror and malicious.
